Designer / Consultant

Designer / Consultants will work with you on the design, material choices, budget and financing of your home remodeling project. Neil Kelly Designers are certified and accredited designers and remodelers through trade organizations. Your Designer will guide and accompany you through the design / build process. Designers will visit the jobsite during the remodeling to monitor progress. Quality control, service, and client satisfaction remain the responsibility of both the Designer / Consultant and the Project Manager throughout the life of the project warranty.

Project Manager

During the production phases of the project, it is important that the client understand the role and responsibilities of the Project Manager.
Our Project Managers perform the task of scheduling, ordering material, coordinating carpenters, drivers and subcontractors, communicating with the client, inspecting work quality, and insuring a safe job site. All of this is done in concert with input from the Designer / Consultant and on-the-job assistance from the Lead Carpenter.
Often a good portion of their day (approximately 1/2) is spent in the office doing all the above. The balance of their time is spent in the field visiting jobs, supply houses, etc.

A client should expect the following from their Project Managers:
• Frequent communication. (Daily during active phases of the job.)
• Frequent site visits. (On a regular basis throughout the project.)
• On the site layout of trade contractors and craftspeople.
• Authorization and management of changes on the project.
• Quick, courteous and responsible response to the client’s concerns.
• Attention to the details of the project.

The Carpenter, Designer / Consultant and the VP of Production are all available to help in the event that our Project Manager is unavailable for any reason.

Design Associate

Design Associates assist the Designer / Consultants in preparation of the project, and setting up appointments at the jobsite. They draft layouts, elevations, and construction details for residential projects, including on-site measuring and site inspections; and they assist with all aspects of the design/build process.
The Design Associate is back-up for the Designer / Consultation on various aspects of a project.

Carpenters

Neil Kelly carpenters provide excellent finish carpentry skills and craftsmanship as well as assisting with security and clean up at the job site. Our carpenters know and understand the plans, permits, specifications and additional work order authorizations for your remodel. Carpenters assist with keeping the project on task and on time.

Any major concerns, questions, or design changes should be directed toward your project manager so the work flow is not interrupted. While our craftspeople will be happy to answer brief questions about the work they are doing, each of us performs best when we are fully focused. Your cooperation will be appreciated.

Neil Kelly Carpenters & Trade Contractors

Our union carpenters have extensive experience and training, have the right tools to do just about any job, and provide only the highest level of craftsmanship. They receive a good family wage and benefits, so they stay with us over the long term - some for more than twenty years.

We have also worked hard to cultivate long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with our trade contractors (plumbers, electricians, sheetrockers, etc.) We work with the best in the business, and some have been our partners for over fifty years.

Neil Kelly vets all trade-contractors to ensure that they are qualified and are the kind of people that we want in our clients’ homes.

When their work is complete, we pay our trade-contractors promptly. We have never had a lien filed by a supplier or trade-contractor on any of our clients’ homes in our 60 years of business.
