PV Racking Technician – Seattle

Do you have roofing experience and are looking to expand your skills? Neil Kelly Company, a family-owned residential remodeling business, has an immediate opening for a PV Installer in its Portland operations.  The PV Installer works with others in Neil Kelly’s Home Performance/ Solar Division on installing solar systems, maintaining solar systems and residential retrofits related to energy efficiency.  In this position, the PV Installer will be part of the installation team, coordinating with onsite electricians, communicate job status data to the Project Manager, and ensure the completion of installation of all solar arrays/systems.  It is the responsibility of every Installer to ensure safe work practices for the whole installation team. General construction work requires climbing ladders, stairs and work on rooftops and working conditions can be extreme; hot sun, and cold rain or in crawl spaces of the home.

The successful candidate will have 1-3 years roof work  or 1 year of solar installation experience, basic residential construction knowledge or carpentry experience and good interpersonal and teamwork skills, and be customer service and quality work oriented. The right candidate will be trained proficiently in installing all types of grid-tied inverters and ability to work with various ground and roof mount racking systems. Excellent time management and organizational skills required.  Must speak, read, and understand English and be competent in basic construction math. Basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs is a strong plus.  The employee must provide their vehicle and their own tools.
