What if I want to change something mid-project?

Changes during construction are handled through an Additional Work Authorization (AWA), also known as a change order. Any change to the original scope of your project — whether it adds or reduces cost and time — will be clearly outlined in an AWA that you review and sign before any new work is completed. Nothing changes without your knowledge and approval.

If you're considering expanding your scope during the design phase — a common impulse often expressed as "we might as well…" — your Design Consultant will walk you through exactly what those additions mean for your overall budget and timeline. They'll provide an updated estimate range and prepare a Design Addendum Agreement so you can make a fully informed decision before committing to anything.

The goal in either case is the same: to make sure any changes align with your priorities and your budget, and to help mitigate any surprises throughout the process.
