This bathroom remodel began with a not-so-glamorous surprise: a water leak that had been patched just enough to get by, but not enough to last. Rather than opt for another repair, the homeowners decided to treat the project as a reset, and tapped NK Seattle designer Isaac Musket for the job. They wanted a bathroom that felt brighter and more personal, with a welcome dose of color, but still polished and timeless.

Design Challenges
One of the primary goals of the project was to give the homeowners a smaller bathtub. However, they also wanted to keep their existing bathroom layout, which created an potential for dead space, disrupted proportions, and overall imbalance. Rather than viewing this as a limitation, Isaac and his team approached it as an opportunity to enhance both function and aesthetics.
Design Solutions
To resolve the scale issue, we designed and built a custom frame around the smaller bathtub, allowing it to sit comfortably within the original footprint while feeling intentional and well-proportioned. This frame became a key design feature, incorporating extra-deep shampoo niches that provide generous storage and visual interest. By extending the shower tile across the face of the tub frame, the design creates a cohesive, finished look, reinforcing a sense of continuity throughout the space.
Special Features
Some of the standout elements of this remodel include the warm cherry wood cabinetry, which adds richness and contrast, the wall sconces that bring in soft, flattering light, and the carefully selected shower tile that introduces color and texture while remaining refined. We also replaced their hinged door with a pocket door to allow for more convenient access to the tall cabinet.
