How long does the design phase take before construction begins?

The Schematic Design phase typically takes two to four weeks. From there, Design Development — where materials are selected, construction drawings are finalized, and a detailed Scope of Work is prepared — generally takes eight to twelve weeks for most kitchen remodels, though the pace can vary based on your schedule and the complexity of your project.

Once you sign your contract, there is an additional period of preparation before construction begins. Permits need to be secured, materials ordered, and trades scheduled. On average, this takes another two to three months. Specialty items like cabinetry can have lead times of twelve to twenty weeks, and permitting timelines vary depending on your location and the type of work involved.

All of this preparation happens intentionally — we don't begin demolition until materials are in hand and every piece of the construction plan is ready to go. It's how we keep your time under construction as short and efficient as possible.
